Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026 · Applies to RankedRAM (www.rankedram.com) and the broader BuildRanked network (BuildRanked, RankedGPU, RankedCPU, RankedRAM, RankedSSD).
Summary
We do not sell your personal data. We collect only the minimum information needed to operate the service. Optional analytics and advertising cookies are used only if you accept them in our cookie banner. Marketplace and affiliate links lead to third-party sites that have their own privacy practices — please review them before placing an order or submitting personal data there.
Who we are

Information we collect
- Usage data. Our hosting infrastructure automatically processes technical information when you visit — such as IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location (derived from IP), referring page, timestamps, and pages viewed. This data is used to keep the site running and secure.
- Cookies and local storage. We use cookies or local storage to remember preferences, store your cookie consent choice, and maintain session security. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you accept them via our cookie banner. We do not use our own cookies to track you across unrelated third-party sites.
- Analytics. When you accept optional cookies in our banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. Google processes data under its own privacy policy. If you decline optional cookies, we do not enable analytics storage in your browser. Google may still receive limited, cookieless measurement signals under Google Consent Mode before you choose.
- Advertising. We may show ads through Google AdSense and related Google advertising services. When you accept optional cookies, Google may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver ads, measure ad performance, and (where permitted) personalize ads. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services. If you decline optional cookies, we do not enable advertising storage in your browser for these purposes.
- Form submissions. If you contact us via the contact form, we process your name, email address, and message content in order to respond. We do not use this information for marketing.
- Catalog and compare inputs. Filters, sort order, compare selections, and similar choices you make on RankedRAM are processed to show results. We do not store or associate these inputs with your identity.
How we use information
- To deliver and maintain the website and catalog experience.
- To diagnose technical problems and maintain security.
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the experience.
- To display and measure advertising that helps support the site (when you have accepted optional cookies and ads are enabled).
- To respond to contact form enquiries.
- To comply with applicable laws and regulations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for their marketing purposes.
Affiliate & retailer links
RankedRAM contains links to Amazon, eBay, Newegg, Scan, and other retailers. These are search links — some may include affiliate tracking parameters that allow us to earn a small commission if you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.
When you click through to a retailer, that retailer's privacy policy governs the data collected on their site. We encourage you to review their policies, particularly before creating an account or completing a transaction.
Data sharing
We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Hosting, analytics, advertising, and infrastructure vendors who process data on our behalf under contractual data-protection obligations.
- Legal requirements. If we are required to disclose information by law, court order, or government authority.
- Business transfer. If BuildRanked is acquired or merged, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is subject to a materially different privacy policy.
Data retention
We retain information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Server logs are typically retained for a short period (days to weeks) and then deleted or anonymised. Contact form submissions are retained only until the enquiry is resolved.
Your rights & choices
- Cookie banner. On your first visit (or after clearing site data), you can accept or decline optional analytics and advertising cookies using the banner at the bottom of the page. Accepting enables Google Analytics and Google AdSense storage as described above; declining keeps them disabled. To change your choice later, clear cookies for this site in your browser settings and reload the page.
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some features (such as saved preferences) may not work as expected if cookies are disabled.
- Analytics opt-out. Decline optional cookies in our cookie banner, or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Personalized ads. Decline optional cookies in our cookie banner, or manage Google ad personalization at Google Ad Settings. For more about how Google uses data in advertising, see Google's advertising technologies policy.
- Access & deletion. If you wish to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you (e.g., a contact form submission), please contact us via the contact page. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
- Do Not Track. There is no universally accepted DNT standard. We do not guarantee a specific response to all DNT signals at this time.
Children
RankedRAM is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
International users
Our servers may be located in countries that have different data protection laws from your own. Essential site operation may involve processing technical data necessary to deliver the service. If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we rely on your consent for optional analytics and advertising cookies (via our cookie banner) and on legitimate interests for strictly necessary operations such as security and abuse prevention.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted where possible. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
